You've probably heard this before, but it bears repeating: Facebook (just like other social networks) is not a place to overtly advertise your goods and services… at least not if you want to get a good return on your investment.
If you are a solo entrepreneur, like me, marketing through Facebook is more about gaining trust and respect first… and the sales happen AFTER that.
So here's how I structure my Facebook marketing campaigns to sell my lineup of digital products. (Of course, this doesn't only apply to digital products – it works for just about any sort of product or service you might have to offer).
STEP ONE: POST A LINK TO A BLOG, ARTICLE, VIDEO, OR OTHER CONTENT ON MY WEBSITE

STEP TWO: PROVIDE GREAT VALUE IN YOUR CONTENT… BUT MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE A CALL TO ACTION
In this example, I have a REALLY long blog post, so I offer readers a chance to download a cheat sheet summary of the article, along with some links to a few helpful resources they can use.

STEP THREE: REQUIRE AN OPT-IN
This is the start of my relationship with my reader – not the end of it. I want to make sure to continue to build on the value I'm offering in my blog post and cheat sheet, with some great email content as well (this helps build trust and authority, which is the basis for being able to potentially create a long term client).

STEP FOUR: MAKE AN OFFER
In this scenario, after someone fills out the opt-in form to receive my cheat sheet, I send them to a page offering a $1 trial to my social marketing training product. Most people won't take advantage of the offer, but now they know what it is I have to sell them.

STEP FIVE: FOLLOW UP VIA EMAIL
Since the reader has requested my cheat sheet, I need to send it to them (notice I didn't just deliver it on the next page?). I also use this opportunity to share some more content with them through my autoresponder email follow-up series (which also includes helpful reminders about my $1 trial offer).

STEP SIX: FOLLOW UP USING FACEBOOK ADS
Since I am tracking who has signed-up for the $1 trial, and who has not, I can also run Facebook “retargeting” ads to people who have not yet taken advantage of it.
SIDE NOTE: This is the kind of stuff I teach inside my Social Marketing Mastermind. Did you know you can get access for just $1? (I thought I'd remind you just in case you had forgotten.)
STEP SEVEN: MY INVITATION TO YOU
So, I'm curious… did you find this helpful? Do you think you could benefit from more training like this?
Then why not take advantage of my special $1 trial offer yourself? I built the Mastermind specifically to help professionals, leaders, coaches, and marketers learn from and share with each other – and it would be great to have you as a part of our community too!
You can get all the details and sign up RIGHT HERE. (See you on the inside!)
