4 Things You MUST Do When Advertising on Facebook

Screen Shot 2015-03-10 at 10.46.40 AM

Okay, here's a question you should ask yourself: “What's the most important thing I can do right now, to start making more money using Facebook ads?”

Now, of course, there's no simple answer to this question, because all businesses are different… but there are a few simple, yet important things you MUST do if you want to consistently increase your revenue with Facebook ads, keep up with the latest trends, and staying out in front of  the competition.

Here are my four top recommendations

Bridge Marketing

I learned this term from Facebook marketing expert and entrepreneur Chris Record. This term is all about finding the right hook for the Facebook audience you are speaking to, and bringing them from a place that's relevant to them into the offer or solution you are promoting.

Let's say, for example, you want to sell stemware to wine drinkers. You could run ads to people on Facebook who like “wine” in general, or you could use the Bridge Marketing approach and create specific ads to each subset of wine lovers: Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Riesling, etc.

So you have an ad that says, “Discover why Pinot drinkers love our glasses!” that targets people interested in Pinot Noir, and another ad that says, “Discover why Cab drinkers love our glasses!” to people interested in Cabernet. This makes people see your ad as the relevant to their unique situation!

You can even have a separate landing page for each, where the content about your product is exactly the same, but you change out the name of
the grape and the pictures to reflect the wine you are referring to.

When you setup bridge marketing campaigns like this, the CTR (click-thru-rate) of your ads will go sky high, the audience you reach will be more interested in your message, and ultimately your sales and your pocketbook will benefit.

Don't Start from Scratch: Use The Success of Others

If you want to waste a lot of time and money, then trying to reinvent the wheel is the way to go. But if you know what's already working for others, then why not emulate what they are doing and adjust it to fit your message?

Just try this over the next week or two: see what your competitors are doing that seems to be working for them… and try to copy it for yourself.
I'm betting it's going to be worth your time and effort – and you'll learn a thing or two that you'll keep on doing moving forward.

Create Custom Audiences

I continue to believe that Facebook is the #1 platform for marketing to consumers. With because of its targeting capabilities, and even more for the “custom audiences” segmentation capabilities that allows you to keep track of who in your audience is interested in what topic.

Be Consistent

A big mistake many Facebook marketers make, whether selling physical products, doing high ticket sales, running webinars, etc is to run a campaign, bring in loads of new business, and then wait until they need an influx of cash flow again before running more campaigns.

When you run your campaigns like this, you are basically leaving the party at its peak, and then trying to come back when everyone has
already left.

In order words, put your campaigns on autopilot and run ads continually, so you always have cash flow coming in and can keep your finger on the
pulse. This way you can monitor changes in the success of your ads and not try to turn the same ad on a month later, only to realize it’s not
converting as well as it did before.

Putting campaigns in place that use bridge marketing, use proven promotions, build custom audiences, and run continually can take peoples’ Facebook marketing from the brink of failure to a consistent stream of profits.

So there you have it. Four things to put in place NOW to improve your Facebook marketing.

Keep The Momentum Going…
