I love having membership sites for my business. But when I built my original membership site, I didn't have the luxury of the sophisticated tools that are now available on the market. My current website is built on the Zaxaa Member plugin, and it's far more robust than anything I've used in the past.
But this week, there are two major players coming to the Membership software market, and I'm really excited about each of them… because they are so much easier to use than my plugin (and they basically put all other players like Wishlist, Amember, Optimize Press, Kajabi to shame). More about them in a moment.
But first…
Not yet sure why you would want a membership site? Here's what Bob Jenkins over at LeadPages has to say about it:
When you create a video course, ebook, webinars, or audio series that packages part of what you know into an easy-to-consume format, you instantly provide value to your potential customers and give yourself the opportunity to generate additional revenue.
Ideally, this digital product should give your potential customers valuable information, but not provide a complete solution for the overall challenges your prospects face. That’s what your primary service is for. Instead, this digital product just gets them started.
Many of the people who initially say no to your primary product or service will still buy your digital product. When they see the value you have to offer, they will often go on to buy more from you, and even purchase your primary service, when they gain confidence in you and your business. You’ll expand your reach to customers beyond your current geographic limitations.
Plus, after you create the product and set up delivery online, no additional time or energy is required to deliver your information product to new buyers.
He goes on the describe 4 Reasons You Should Sell Digital Content using Membership sites. Including…
- Generate Consistent, Recurring Revenue
- Elevate Your Business with a Membership Ladder (moving customers to increasingly higher paying products or services)
- Increase the Lifetime Value of a Customer by Selling Related Products
- Keep Growing through Attention and Retention
So what about those two membership platforms? Well, yesterday I posted about the different approach each is taking in their product launch. Today, you can see an inside glimpse into how each one works:
I've just about decided which one I'm going to upgrade to… (hint: it includes the word “member” preceded by 5 letters). How about you?
