5 Tips On Using Blogging To Become An Authority In Your Field

5 Tips On Using Blogging To Become An Authority In Your FieldYou know a lot about your industry. You've spent years crafting your knowledge and expertise. Now It's time to put that experience to work for you online. In other words, you want to become recognized as an authority figure in your niche.

Once you earn the respect and admiration of your marketplace as a knowledgeable leader, traffic, income, and profits are a lot easier to achieve. As an authority, others seek out your knowledge. As an authority, you get you content reposted, shared, and linked-to. As an authority, you are a reference point.

But how do you use blogging to generate that authoritative status? The following practices will help you turning your hard work into prestige and influence that help you meet your business goals.

Be Consistent

Respect comes with consistency. Consistent content delivery also automates positive behavior in your audience. When someone knows that you put up a great new blog post every Monday, over time they unconsciously develop a habit of checking into your blog on that day. The same is true with posting to social media sites. Be consistent, repeating small daily and weekly practices, and you will slowly but surely elevate your position as an authority figure in your niche.

Quality over Quantity

It is much smarter, and you will get better results, if you post one meaty, value-rich, problem-solving post every couple of weeks, rather than slapping up 3 to 5 average posts each week. Always demand the highest quality content from yourself.

Be Yourself

The people you respect in your life are unique individuals. People can tell when you are trying to be fake, or trying to copy someone else. Be who you are. The people who identify with your unique personality, ideas and goals will respect and look up to you for being true to yourself.

Ask For Reviews and Testimonials from Satisfied Customers

Odds are you or your blog has some satisfied clients. Somewhere, at some time, even if you are relatively new, someone commented on how much they liked what you do. Ask these individuals for testimonials, as well as positive reviews on sites like FourSquare and Yelp.

Interview Respected Industry Experts

Have you ever seen a picture of someone with the President of the United States, the Queen of England or some other globally recognized leader? You have no idea of the details behind that picture. Even so, you instantly credit that person with being noteworthy. You can “borrow” the same respect and authority by interviewing the top leaders in your field, and making these interviews available on your blog.

Create an Epic Blog Post

Take the time, weeks or months if need be, to create an incredible piece of content. It should be something that people would be willing to pay money for. Solve a huge problem, providing an ultimate solution. Leave nothing out. Make sure your post is at least 1,500 words long, and over 2,000 words or more if possible.

When you finally solve a big problem that has been weighing on the minds of the people in your marketplace, and you provide this resource for free on your blog, you develop lifelong followers.
