Review of the Backlink Outreach Tool LinkHunter

Hi I'm David Baer from Baer On Marketing and in this video we're going to be talking about how to get backlinks to your website. Listen if you're a website owner like I am, you probably get a lot of outreach emails asking you “hey, can I guest post?” or “I notice that you have an article about this? I have a great resource that you might want to link to!”

Those kinds of emails have a great power in helping websites get better rankings when they're all linked together. And so you know finding a tool that can help you identify great partner websites so that your website can get better rankings is very, very useful in making this entire process a lot more efficient.

There's, a bunch of tools out on the market that you can find to do outreach. I've used Mailshake. I've used Ninja Outreach. And recently I came across a new tool called LinkHunter. I'm, going to show you how that tool works right now.

So here we are on the Link Hunter website. This is their general sales page and there's a great summary of how it works. And I'm going to show you inside the tool in just a moment. But first, basically what it does is you enter some keywords and then it finds relevant websites that it thinks are going to be appropriate to do outreach to.

Then you actually do the outreach and you get the links. That's the idea. So it's going to search for lots of different websites, based, as I said, on the keywords that you put in. And then it's going to show you the ranking of those websites so that you have a sense of whether it's worth reaching out to each of those or not.

Then there are templates for you to do the outreach. And then finally you can personalize each of those and hopefully people respond positively and help arrange those backlinks.

So let's dive into the actual software. When you get inside there's a bunch of different types of campaigns that it helps you set up. So this is one to get a guest post on somebody's site. Maybe to have a blogger review a product that you're trying to sell.

You can also pay a blogger to write about you so that's, you know, “what is your fee to to cover me?” For example, you could have your content, promoted to other blogs, and then also get links from resource pages.

So this might be where somebody lists a bunch of resources relevant to their audience, and so you will reach out to them and say, “hey, I noticed that you had something similar to the product or service that we offer, Would you be interested in including us as a resource as well?” Or, similarly, “I noticed you didn't cover the thing that we do. Would you like to include us on your resource page?”

There's additional campaigns as well, where you can customize it completely or you can import a list of websites that you want to do direct outreach to and not have the software find those for you.

In this case, let's just do a guest post one. We'll go ahead and hit “create campaign.” In this case, let's say that I want to do something about customer lifecycle marketing. Now this this is where I'm going to enter my keywords.

“Customer Lifecycle Marketing” is going to be one of them. Let's see if that likes it. Now this is interesting. It says the topic is too specific. So maybe what I want to do is say: “marketing,” maybe I want to say “online marketing.”

Okay, maybe “customer lifetime value.” Let's see if that's not too specific. That's great. Now, do I want to do this worldwide, or am I really only focused in… or I could, you know, choose another major English-speaking country, where i'm likely to find websites in English.

So in this case, let's just say I could select a campaign group if I'm organizing this. In this case, I'm not going to. Let's just go ahead and hit “next.” All right, so now I have the customer lifecycle marketing campaign. And what it's doing here is let's, just in the background. It is looking for websites where there might be opportunities. Now it's, telling me here to insert a template for the email that I want to send and there's.

A few different types of templates that are pre-written to really help me get this off the ground and up and running really quickly. So there's, a a professional version or the tone is professional. There's more casual tone.

There's, a very brief one, or there's, one that I can actually just fill in completely myself. So let's say I want to do the professional one. The subject matter here is very much business to business.

So I might say you know hi, my name is david bear with, and I can just you know say, bear on marketing. I noticed your websites are very closely related or our websites are very closely related. So I wanted to contact you in regards to establishing a content partnership, see the subject line here is content partnership? Okay, assuming you're interested.

I would contribute a unique piece of content exclusively for your website. So basically, what i'm saying is say yes and i'll write, something just for you. I have extensive experience with okay, in this case it's.

Customer life cycle marketing is what i'm reaching out to them about, and i'm confident. I could provide an article that your audience would find interesting and engaging right and then what I can do is I can link to some posts on my website simply by clicking there and adding the link, and then you know inserting that url there i'm going to skip over this for now also, I have reviewed a variety of articles on your website and would like to propose a few potential topics that could be a good fit for your audience and then I can write.

You know the three different topics here and you know whether you review those um articles that already exist on their website or not is up to you um. You could do this for a couple of sites get a sense of what's out there and then um.

You know just insert some general uh things there. Let's. Uh reduce this a little bit more, so you can see the entire body here. So please, let me know which, if any of these topics you'd, like me like to move forward with, and I can start working on, the article don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you and then you want to add the sign off down at the bottom. There okay hit next now there's, also a follow-up email, so a lot of people will not respond, and so you can automatically set this to follow up uh seven days later, three days later, however, you know immediately, you want to follow up with Them, and so again this is just a you know.

I want to check back with you, so let's, go ahead and hit save all right, so that's. That is the email template now, in the meantime, what it's doing. Is it's, looking for a potential websites, and I can toggle this over to emails found and it's, going to tell me whether there were email addresses found for each of these websites or not.

It also is giving me information on the authority of the site, um and the the KW, so these are basically two different factors that are going to tell you. Is this site worth work worth reaching out to let's click away and see? If I can get rid of that thing, okay, great, so in the meantime let's say I got this.

I want to work on this site. Let's, go ahead and skip that. I don't want to see that and it's. Going to embed the template that I chose and below that you'll, see the actual site uh. So this is like a little uh mini an iframe uh.

You know here in the browser and it's, showing you the site so that you could actually add something specific in your email, referencing, something on the site and the more specific you are with these outreach emails um, the the better uh.

So you can actually say you know: uh hey, I noticed um. You know this particular article uh and you you can mention it uh, and then you can get into your stuff, because then they know that this is not some general email that is being sent out to everybody, but that you've, actually taken the Time to specifically look at their site and then you can, you know, go ahead and send this off.

So what you do here is you connect your email address? If you hit that there's, just a pop-up to choose the email address that you want to connect and then it will allow you to start the campaign for this email.

So this part of this process is manual and it's. Intentional that it's manual, because you want to really vet each individual site and customize a little bit more. What it is that you are sending out to them, so you don't want to just you know, run an entire list of these things and automatically have it sending out stuff without you having uh confirmed that uh.

This is really an appropriate site for you, so that's, pretty much it that that's, a very, very straightforward tool. It's, much more comprehensive, specifically to the whole backlink request process.

Uh it doesn't require the manual process that some of the other tools that i've used do require where you actually have to go and find the websites first and then you can do the outreach. This actually helps.

You find the sites which is incredibly helpful, and that includes recommendations about the the quality of the site. To let you know is this even a site worth reaching out to so it goes above and beyond what a lot of the other tools do, which are really just focused on outreach or even backlinks, but not giving you the additional information about whether it's a good or a bad site to even reach out to overall, I love the approach that link hunter takes.

Obviously, it's, not uh specific to things like getting interviews or selling uh your business um uh. You know products or services. This is all about backlinks, uh and it because of that uh they they've, set up a very simple to follow system.

That is uh very, very targeted, and, I think, a probably probably one of the best ones that I have seen when it comes to uh this entire process of doing outreach to get backlinks to your site, highly recommend it.
