I began writing this post by staring at a blank screen. And, honestly, even though I knew the subject I wanted write about, there were any number of ways I could begin. Even now, I'm hesitating to think about what words should come out of me next, and where I want to take you with this post.
Writing from scratch isn't always easy. For those of us who don't consider ourselves gifted writers, the task can seem daunting. And there's also the time commitment involved in creating content online. But online content is hugely important for generating traffic, positioning yourself as an authority, and introducing yourself to prospective clients. So I continue to make it part of my regular routine.
Blog posts, are only one piece of the material I create in my business. I also record video courses, develop and market software, and have even written a couple of books.
And, while the materials are mine, large portions of what I create start with someone else's material.
And, before you accuse me of plagiarism, what I'm doing is both ethical and happens with the full knowledge and permission of the materials' original creators.
What I'm talking about here is something called PLR (which stands for Private Label Rights).
PLR saves you both time and money, and enables you to generate more content and digital products quickly and efficiently. When you purchase PLR, you are granted use of the materials in any number of ways as stipulated by the terms of a license that comes with your purchase. While PLR can be used “as is,” it's best when taken and adapted to you, your audience, and your business… but it provides a great starting point.
What can you do with PLR?
• Turn it into a paid product. There's lots of great content here…plus you get the worksheet and checklist to help your customers take action. Easily charge admission for this high value, action-oriented content that has already been proven to sell.
• Add it to your membership site. Have a membership site and want to bump of the content value? Add this content as a bonus or add it to your monthly content line up. Your members are going to love it.
• Use it as a product bonus. Already have a traffic generation or video marketing product? Use this to boost the value by offering this course as a limited time bonus to drive some quick sales…or offer it as a permanent bonus to sweeten the offer.
• Use it as a highly-target lead magnet to grow your list and upgrade them to a paid product. If you're looking to grow your list of people who are interested in video marketing or search engine optimization, offer a sneak peek into the course and upgrade them to the paid product for sale.
In the coaching world, there are several PLR providers, as well as companies which create materials for you to use in running your business, like forms, procedures, and more. Here are some of the ones I've found the most beneficial to the coaches and trainers I work with:
COACH GLUE Coach Glue designs and creates high-end coaching programs, workshops, and content for business coaches that can be licensed, branded, and sold. The focus is on business coach and entrepreneurs who work with an audience of other business owners. It is not for life coaches, health coaches, parenting coaches, weight loss coaches, etc.
PLR.ME is a great resource of content for health and wellness professionals, life coaches, therapists, and doctors. It was created for coaches by a stress management coach who built his business around a highly successful content marketing strategy.
ALL PRIVATE LABEL CONTENT covers a range of topics in a great many areas. Products include articles, ebooks, challenges, and a lot more. They also have an excellent introduction to PLR guide book.
CONTENT SPARKS provides a wide range of online and offline business training materials, webinars, and full courses.
PUBLISH FOR PROSPERITY is a site developed by master of PLR, Alice Seba. Alice's in-house team of writers have been churning out exceptionally high-quality content on topics ranging from online marketing (I'm a customer) to health and wellness, to business.
